Let’s talk about our vanities. The ones that start resembling a beauty counter explosion after a while? Nothing is more frustrating than getting ready and being unable to find your favorite lip liner or a brush. Clutter happens quickly with makeup, which is why I’ve developed a strategy to keep my space clean and ready for when I need to get glammed.
Here are some habits that I’ve made to ensure my space is always ready for me.
Group By Usage
Keep products together in how you use them. Skincare, makeup, and hair accessories should all be put in their own space. Using bags, drawers, or containers, give every item a space.
Everyday Glam
A chic tray or section for your daily essentials, the products you swear by every single day. This is where your favorites go and should live. The goal is to make your morning routine as smooth as possible. So, keep your favorites front and center.
Special Occasion or Elevated Glam
Now, for the items that come out for special occasions, create a separate storage spot nearby but off center stage. This way, your daily essentials aren’t playing hide-and-seek with your evening glam products. I’d recommend a drawer or separate makeup organizer.
Clean Out Every Season
Spring cleaning for makeup? Realistically, this probably isn’t enough. It’s good to go through your products to make sure they are essential. Clutter builds up quickly, if you’re not returning products that you aren’t satisfied with, consider donating them or passing them off to a friend. Remember to discard old products, and restock on anything that’s basically empty.

By organizing your vanity and taking inventory every couple of months, you’ll transform chaos into calm. It’s all about making your space feel fluid, comfortable, and authentic TO YOU. After all, you deserve a vanity that works just as hard as you do.
